He is such a majestic sight, isn't he? Yes, he was born free, and it makes me wonder what they go through everytime they perform for the crowds..

Dear All:

Thank you so much, People! The show 'believe' by Shamu and the other killer whales was the most splendid show I`ve ever seen! 'Majestic' (like all of you said) is the right word!

I don't feel good about making animals perform for us, because it isn't necessary.

We have so much more entertainment today, we really don't need to subject an animal to this...

Pal: For about 2 hours right from the opening hours at 10am to the Shamu show at noon, I was standing by an enclosed pool and watching the whales being trained. I have some good pictures of that too. But it killed me, Pal. It made me sadder than I have been in years. Also the fact that I was there alone (with The G away at a conference) pbly played a part too.

IHM: I whole heartedly agree and hence the caption. It makes me immensely sad and I`ve stopped going for animal shows or to the zoo etc. But I cannot deny how spectacular this show was! That made me even sadder actually!

GNSD: I was at Sea World alone while The G was away at a conference at the UCSD. So even though I thoroughly enjoyed the show, the overall experience left me sad somehow..:(
I`m waiting for the contest!!!! :):) Put it up soon!!!

Watching them somehow makes me feel claustrophobic. Zoomed in and looked....he is sooo huge isnt he. Just imagining him living in a small water body[he cd be living in a 5 kms wide pool but even then] instead of the ocean makes me want to claw at the walls.

sm: thanks!

Reflections: Hey Nancy,I felt the same way too! Imagine living in a bath tub with a million people watching you everyday! I wonder if whales have a heart?? :)
